Sandy’s Chocolate Cake

– 1 cup butter, softened – 3 cups packed brown sugar – 4 large eggs, room temperature – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – 2-2/3 cups all-purpose flour – 3/4 cup baking cocoa – 3 teaspoons baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1-1/3 cups sour cream

frosting: – 1/2 cup butter, cubed – 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped – 3 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped – 5 cups confectioners' sugar – 1 cup sour cream – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour three 9-inch round baking pans.

In a big bowl, mix together the butter and brown sugar until it becomes light and fluffy, which takes about 5 to 7 minutes.

Add eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Then add vanilla and mix again.

In another bowl, mix together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Then add this mixture to the creamed mixture bit by bit, alternating with sour cream

1. Pour the batter into the prepared pans. 2. Bake in the oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
