Mamaw's Chicken And Rice Casserole Recipe

Ingredients: – 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced – 1 cup uncooked white rice – 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup – 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup – 1 cup chicken broth – 1 cup milk – 1 small onion, finely chopped – 2 cloves garlic, minced – 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, uncooked rice, condensed cream of mushroom soup, condensed cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, milk

chopped onion, minced garlic, dried thyme, dried parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

If using frozen peas or mixed vegetables, stir them into the mixture.

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

After 45 minutes, remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.

Return the casserole to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
