HOW TO DEFROST FISH QUICKLY AND SAFELY

Plan ahead and thaw fish in the refrigerator overnight.

Place fish in a sealed plastic bag before thawing to prevent contamination.

Submerge fish in cold water for a quicker thaw, changing the water every 30 minutes.

Use the defrost setting on your microwave, but be careful not to cook the fish.

Avoid using hot water or leaving fish out at room temperature to thaw.

If you're in a hurry, use the cold water method or microwave method.

Once thawed, cook fish immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to two days. Never refreeze fish that has been thawed.
