Homemade Funnel Cake Recipe

Ingredients: 1. 2 cups all-purpose flour 2. 1 teaspoon baking powder 3. 1/2 teaspoon salt 4. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 5. 2 large egg 6. 1 cup milk 7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 8. Vegetable oil, for frying 9. Powdered sugar, for dusting

Prepare the Batter: – In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar. Whisk together until well combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients: – In a separate bowl, beat the eggs lightly. Then, add in the milk and vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well incorporated.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: – Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients, stirring continuously until you have a smooth batter. Ensure there are no lumps.

Heat the Oil: – Pour vegetable oil into a deep skillet or pot, filling it to about 1 inch in depth. 

Fill the Funnel: – Pour the prepared batter into a funnel or a squeeze bottle with a narrow opening.

Fry the Funnel Cakes: – Carefully drizzle the batter into the hot oil in a circular motion, creating a lacy pattern. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until the funnel cake is golden brown and crispy.

Serve and Enjoy: – Once cooked, use tongs or a slotted spoon to transfer the funnel cake to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
