Festive Gingerbread Cookie Bars Recipe

Ingredients 2 cups all purpose flour 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/ teaspoon ground cloves 1/2 cup butter, melted 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup molasses 1 egg

Fat the bottom of a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a small bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, baking powder, ginger, salt, nutmeg and cloves together. Add complimentary and set aside.

Cream butter together with sugar and vanilla in a medium-sized bowl for five minutes making stops in order to scrape down the sides of the bowl.

Thoroughly whisk in molasses then eggs. Beat dry into wet ingredients until combined. Dough will be firm.

Bake dough for 15 to 18 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. When it is completely cool apply frosting.

Cookies need to be squared off before applying frosting and each square has to be divided diagonally into two triangles by cutting across them. Move to flat surface.

Microwave the frosting on high power for ten seconds or more until melted. Mix well and let it become silky smooth adding up easily.

Place in a resealable plastic bag that can be sealed shut. In order to drizzle some frosting over the cookies open only one corner of your bag which is otherwise very small; add sugar sprinkles too.
