Easy Homemade Mac And Cheese Recipe

Ingredients: – 2 cups elbow macaroni – 2 tablespoons butter – 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour – 2 cups milk – 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1/4 teaspoon black pepper – Optional: breadcrumbs for topping

Instructions: 1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the flour and whisk continuously until smooth, creating a roux. 

Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Continue to cook until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble. 

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. 

Season the cheese sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed. 

If desired, transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and broil for a few minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
