Classic Quiche Lorraine Recipe

Ingredients: 1. 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade if preferred) 2. 6 slices of bacon, diced 3. 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese 4. 4 large eggs 5. 1 cup heavy cream 6. 1/4 teaspoon salt 7. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 8. Pinch of nutmeg (optional) 9. 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pre-made pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish, pressing it firmly against the bottom and sides.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Sprinkle the cooked bacon evenly over the bottom of the pie crust, followed by the shredded Gruyere cheese.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using) until well combined.

Pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese in the pie crust, ensuring it is evenly distributed.

Brush the edges of the pie crust with melted butter to promote a golden brown crust.

Carefully transfer the quiche to the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.

Once baked, remove the quiche from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
