Black Forest Cupcakes Recipe

Ingredients 1 box, 15.25 oz, chocolate cake mix ingredients to make cake 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream 1/4 cup sugar cherry pie filling -a can of cherry pie filling is 21 oz, and you will use about half the can for this. maraschino cherries in juice

Combine the cake mix with the cocoa powder in a bowl and mix well. Continue with the other directions on the box, including any other ingredients needed to bake a cake. 


Use a three-tablespoon portion scoop for filling cupcake liners. Bake cupcakes according to package instructions. Cool thoroughly.

An apple corer could be used to remove the center of each cupcake. Set aside that hole in between.

Two whole cherries from pie filling should be placed into every single cupcake. Put the middle of the cupcake on top.

Strain maraschino cherries, then brush juice over top of cupcakes using a pastry brush.

Take some sugar and heavy whipping cream into mixing bowl. Beat until mixture is stiffened. 

Spoon this into 1M tip piping bag and pipe onto each cupcake as desired, topping each one off with a cherry on top. Deliver.
