Best Mashed Potatoes Recipe

2 pounds baking potatoes, peeled and quartered 3 cloves garlic, peeled, or to taste (Optional) 1 cup milk 2 tablespoons butter salt and ground black pepper to taste


First, boil a big pot of water with some salt. Put in the potatoes and garlic.

Then reduce the heat to medium and let them cook until the potatoes are soft, which usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes. 

While the potatoes are cooking, warm up some milk and butter in a small saucepan on low heat until the butter melts.

Once the potatoes are nearly done, drain them and put them back in the pot. 

Slowly pour in the warm milk mixture while you mash the potatoes until they become smooth and creamy. 

Add salt and pepper to taste.
