Best Coffee Cake Recipe (With Extra Crumb)

Ingredients: For the Cake: – 2 cups all-purpose flour – 1 cup granulated sugar – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened – 1 cup sour cream – 2 large egg – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Crumb Topping: – 1 cup all-purpose flour – 1 cup brown sugar – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon – 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. 

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the sour cream and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined. 

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.  

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula. 

To make the crumb topping, combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Drizzle the melted butter over the mixture and stir until crumbly clusters form. 

Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the cake batter in the pan, covering it completely.

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the crumb topping is golden brown.
