6 cups peeled, cored, and sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/3 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly coated. Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, and brown sugar. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs

1. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Allow the apple crisp to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
